In the 12th round of the Brasileirão Feminino, Flamengo maintained its good form in the championship by beating Internacional 4-1, on Thursday afternoon (22), in Gávea. Ju Ferreira, Fernanda, Djeni and Leidiane scored for the red-blacks. With the result, the Meninas da Gávea rose to fifth place with 23 points.

The game
The Gávea Girls started the match looking to attack, and just two minutes in, they created their first chance. Cristiane controlled the ball inside the box and crossed perfectly for Mariana to head in. The ball went just wide of the post. A few minutes later, Mengão opened the scoring! Agustina set up Ju Ferreira, who fired a first-time shot into the goalkeeper's left corner: 1-0.

With the advantage, Flamengo continued to attack, looking to extend their lead. In the 11th minute, Cristiane headed the ball to Ju Ferreira, who burst into the box and fired a cross. The ball flew past Mayara's right post. As the game progressed, Internacional was forced to attack, posing more threats to Karol Alves' goal.

In the 41st minute, Mariana crossed to Cristiane, who tried a backheel, but the ball went wide. The first half ended with the red-and-blacks in the lead, dominating the action.

Less than a minute into the second half, the Meninas da Gávea almost scored their second. After a ball was lofted into the box, Glaucia attempted a volley, but the ball fell to Cristiane, who fired a cross-shot. The ball flew just wide of the goalkeeper's left post.

In the fifth minute, Mengão extended their lead with a stunning goal! Fernanda received the ball in the middle, chipped the ball over the defender, the ball bounced, and she slotted it into the corner to score the second goal for the red-and-blacks: 2-0. The Meninas da Gávea didn't take their foot off the gas and added the third shortly thereafter, in the 19th minute. Laysa received the ball on the left side of the box and shot across goal, which the goalkeeper palmed away. Cristiane got the rebound and delivered a perfect pass for Djeni to finish into the net: 3-0.

Three minutes later, Inter were awarded a penalty. Belén Aquino struck powerfully to reduce the deficit to 3-1. Mengão, in turn, denied their opponents a chance to react and scored the fourth in the 34th minute. Leidiane, who had just come on, received the ball inside the box, shook off her marker, and slotted it into the back of the net to seal the rout at Gávea: 4-1.
