In the intense heat, Flamengo thrashed LGD/Karanba 6-1 on Saturday morning (18) and came very close to securing a spot in the final of the U-20 Women's Rio Cup, which will be played in a single match. The goals in the victory at CEFAN were scored by Mariana (2), Ana Donato, Letícia, Ju Romanelli and Bruna. With the result, the team remained in sole leadership of the classification phase with one round remaining. 

The game

Just five minutes in, Ana Laura reached the baseline and crossed for Yasmin Maciel. The number 7 shot powerfully, the goalkeeper saved, and on the rebound, Mariana opened the scoring. The opponent equalized minutes later with Millena, but Mengão gave them no space and quickly took the lead with a free kick from Ana Donato. In the 38th minute, Letícia took a chance from outside the box and scored the third. Before halftime, Mariana extended the lead from the penalty spot: 4-1.

The second half was fairly uneventful for the Meninas da Gávea, who played the ball well and managed the result without any scares. In the 29th minute, Ana Donato crossed and Ju Romanelli headed it into the back of the net: 5-1. There was still time for the sixth, scored by Bruna after a beautiful assist from Letícia.
