Gávea was the stage for a great performance by the Under-20 team this Easter Sunday. In a match valid for the sixth and final round of the first phase of the Brazilian Championship in that category, Flamengo thrashed Litoral Norte-BA 10-1 – with six goals and an excellent performance from center forward Brendha – finishing top of Group B and securing a place in the quarterfinals of the competition. Anna Luiza and Alice, twice each, completed the scoring.

The game

The home team's first chance came in the ninth minute. Isabela Nunes crossed into the box, Sofia flicked it on, and Nicoli hit the crossbar. Following that, Yasmim Cardozo went to the byline and crossed for Brendha to open the scoring. In the 11th minute, the referee awarded a penalty to the opposition, and Bellinha converted: 1-1. In the 29th minute, Yasmim was also fouled in the penalty area, and Brendha sent the goalkeeper the wrong way: 2-1.

The lead made the Flamengo women's team extremely comfortable, and in the 38th minute, Sofia delivered a beautiful pass for Anna Luiza to score a fantastic goal. The number 10 was unmarked and lobbed the goalkeeper. Then, in the 42nd minute, it was Anna Luiza's turn to find Brendha, who scored her hat-trick: 4-1, and they went into halftime with qualification practically assured.

Upon returning to the field, just 4 minutes in, Anna Luiza and Dudinha exchanged passes, and the midfielder struck a powerful shot into the corner: 5-1. At 16 minutes, Isabela Nunes took a perfect free kick, Sofia hit the post, and Brendha was there to finish it off: 6-1, and the massacre was complete. At 30 minutes, after the water break, Anna Luiza crossed into the area, Cecília headed it on, and the striker didn't waste the opportunity again: 7-1 and five goals.

At 36 minutes, Thay Guedes – making her debut that day – was fouled. Who took the free kick? She did. Brendha... 8-1 and her sixth goal. There was still time for the rout to get even bigger. In stoppage time, Leane set up Alice in front of Luisa, and the striker only had to choose the side: 9-1. Before the final whistle, Alice took advantage of a good play by Maria Fernanda and sealed the victory: 10-1, leading the group and securing a place in the quarterfinals.
