In the fourth round of the Women's Carioca Championship, Mengão thrashed Vasco 4-0 on Saturday afternoon (20), at the Nivaldo Pereira stadium. The Rubro-Negro's goals were scored by Sorriso, from a free kick, Flávia, Ana Carla and Samhia. With the result, the Meninas da Gávea achieved their third victory and maintained their unbeaten run in the competition.

The game
Early in the first half, the Meninas da Gávea attacked Vasco, exchanging passes in the attacking half and maintaining the majority of possession. In the seventh minute, Sorriso ran down the left, took the ball to the byline, and crossed into the box. Rafa Barros headed the ball, but the ball sailed over the crossbar.

In the 17th minute, Vasco created three scoring chances in a single move, but the Vasco goalkeeper prevented Mengão from scoring the first. Vasco's team was unable to get past the midfield due to the team's strong defense, which was well-positioned.

On the attack, the Mais Querido (Most Beloved) kept pressing in every possible way in search of a goal, and the São Januário team did everything they could to prevent it. In the 34th minute, Flávia received the ball at the edge of the box and unleashed a powerful shot. Goalkeeper Grazi stretched and put it out for a corner. In the 42nd minute, Mengão opened the scoring! Débora Sorriso took a free kick from the edge of the box, the ball curled and fooled the goalkeeper to score a stunning goal: 1-0.

In the second half, Flamengo continued to dominate possession and look to attack to extend their lead. Five minutes in, Mengão scored their second! After a solo play by Jayane, Flávia grabbed the rebound and slotted it into the net: 2-0.

For the rest of the match, Flamengo maintained the same rhythm and continued to try attacking plays. In the 28th minute, Flamengo extended their lead. Ana Carla drove the ball into the box and fired a low shot into the corner of the net: 3-0. In the 43rd minute, following a corner kick, Samhia, who had just come on, rose high and scored Flamengo's fourth to seal the victory: 4-0.

With a clear superiority throughout the 90 minutes, Mengão left the field with yet another important victory.
