On Monday morning (9), the Meninas da Gávea will face Vasco, at 10 am, at home, in a match valid for the second round of the Copa Rio Feminina - in the first round, Mais Querido had a bye. With the maintenance of important players in the squad, the arrival of two athletes (Layza Cavalcanti and Maisa) and the promotion of several athletes who have won everything in the youth ranks, such as Anna Luiza and Nina Garrit, Rubro-Negro starts the year focused on winning the regional competition again and having a good campaign in the Brasileirão, where the team led by Celso Silva will play its first game on Thursday (12), against Mixto-MT, away from home.

"Our idea is to use the Copa Rio to give our squad playing time and use the competition to arrive well-prepared for the Brazilian Championship. This tournament will be important for us to adapt our playing style well, already thinking about our debut against Mixto. Due to the proximity of the matches, we will carefully manage the players' workload and we have a clear objective: to win. When it comes to Flamengo, we can't think any differently," said the coach.

Tournament format

This is the fourth edition, and Flamengo, Botafogo, Fluminense, Real Heips, and Vasco will face each other in two rounds. In the end, whoever accumulates the most points will be declared champion. It's worth noting that Flamengo has already been crowned champion twice: in 2023 and 2025.
