Rubro-negros fell behind and fought for the result at home, but were unable to turn the game around.
By Mariana Sa - inIn Gávea, Flamengo/Marinha drew 2-2 with Vitória-BA on Saturday afternoon (18). Coming from behind, the Mais Querido fought hard and managed to equalize the score with determination, with goals from Dany Helena and Lu Meireles. The red-blacks will now have a break in the Brazilian Women's Championship during the World Cup period, returning in July against Internacional away from home.

The game
The match was dominated by Flamengo from the first minute. With excellent chances, Flamengo came very close to opening the scoring, but goalkeeper Maryana was inspired and didn't let a single ball through. In the 42nd minute, Vitória prevailed on a swift counterattack, scoring the first goal of the game against Verona.
In the final stage, Gaby had two good opportunities in the first few minutes, but Mais Querido saw the opponent extend their lead, again with Verona, in the 8th minute. Shortly after, however, Dany Helena scored a great goal with a curling shot and reduced the deficit, bringing Mengão back into the game.
Making changes and pressing hard, Flamengo/Marinha gave Vitória no breathing room, attacking relentlessly and forcing big plays from the Bahia defense. After many attempts, Lu Meireles persisted, giving it his all, and leveled the score at 2-2. Despite the better chances, nothing changed, and the match ended in a draw.
