Anyone who was at the Arena da Amazônia this Sunday (17) saw a red-and-black show. In the match between Flamengo/Marinha and Iranduba, which marked the teams' debut in the Brazilian Women's Football Championship, the Meninas da Gávea dominated the home team and won 3-0. The goals were scored by Raíza (twice) and Ju.

With this result, Flamengo is off to a good start in the race for its second championship, with three points in the standings. In the next round, Mengo hosts Vitória-PE in Rio de Janeiro. The venue has yet to be determined.

The game

The match was evenly matched in the first half. Both teams studied each other closely and ended up playing defensively, which reduced their chances in the first 45 minutes. Rafaela Silva had the best chance, with a beautiful volley that flew just wide. In the final play, Andressa found Raíza up front, and she headed home to open the scoring.

The balanced outlook changed early in the second half. In the first minute, Ju managed to extend the lead with a great play. Then it was Raíza's turn to score again. With the score at 3-0, Flamengo relaxed but continued to attack. Iranduba posed little threat to Kaká's goal, so nothing changed until the final whistle.

Lineup: Kaka; Fernanda, Daiana, Andressa and Rayanne; Ju, Sâmia Pryscila and Gaby (Carol Matos/Bia); Raíza (Dany Helena), Flávia and Rafaela Silva. Coach: Ricardo Abrantes.
