Dispute system
In the first stage of the competition, the teams face each other in a home-and-away format. Then, the top four clubs from each of the two groups advance to the quarterfinals, semifinals, and final. All matches will be played in home-and-away format. The Brazilian champion also secures a spot in the 2019 Copa Libertadores.
the opponent
Foz Cataratas sits fifth in the group, with 11 points from ten games. They've won two, drawn five, and lost three so far. In the last round, they drew 1-1 with Rio Preto at home.
Retrospect
The teams have faced each other three times in the competition's history. In the final round of the first round last year, Mais Querido hosted Paraná in Los Larios, Duque de Caxias, and won 5-2. Pâmela and Bárbara scored twice, and Jane completed the scoring for Rubro-Negro. In the eighth round, Fla went to the Pedro Basso stadium, in Foz do Iguaçu, and defeated Foz/Coritiba 1-0. The goal was scored by Carol in the second half.
In the 2018 Brasileirão, Flamengo drew in Foz do Iguaçu. Despite a very good game by the Red-Blacks, the match ended in a 0-0 draw.
