Flamengo/Marinha faces São Paulo in the Women's Brazilian Championship
After a good result in the last round, Meninas da Gávea want to take advantage of the home advantage to get going in the competition

This Sunday afternoon (16), the team will face São Paulo at 14 pm at the Giulite Coutinho Stadium in Edson Passos. Entry to the Nation will once again be free. An interesting fact is that the teams have never faced each other before in history.
In tenth place, Rubro-Negro scored three goals and conceded four. Scorer of one in the last game, forward Carlinha spoke about the importance of taking advantage of being the home team.
"We're facing a great team. I know some of the girls there, and I'm sure it will be a tough game. Whoever makes the fewest mistakes will win, so we need to be alert. The match will be at our home, and we have to impose ourselves. We're prepared and want to leave the field with a positive result," said the number 28.
Full-back Debora Sorriso preached calm and analyzed the context of the competition.
"We know the importance of the game, we're focused, and we've been working to improve little by little. Playing at home is always a big responsibility, but we expect a good performance. We need the three points because, as it's a long competition, winning early makes all the difference later on," she emphasized.

Flamengo/Marinha in the Brazilian Championship
This is Flamengo/Marinha's sixth appearance. Having played nationally since 2015, the team won the championship in 2016.
Dispute system
The tournament format remains the same as in 2019. All 16 clubs face each other in a single round, with the top eight advancing. The knockout stage features home-and-away matches.
Having finished in a good position last year, Mais Querido will play eight matches at home and seven away.
A three-month break is planned. Therefore, the Meninas da Gávea will play until the end of May and will only return if they advance to the semifinals, in August.
