Flamengo/Marinha thrashes São Francisco 5-0 and advances to the quarterfinals of the Brazilian Women's Championship
With a hat trick from Larissa, Mais Querido had total control of the match and achieved another impressive score.
By Romulo Paranhos - inOn the rainy afternoon of this Sunday (4), Flamengo/Marinha faced the São Francisco (BA) team at the Gávea stadium, in a match valid for the 15th round of the Brazilian Women's Championship. The red-black girls had another beautiful performance and beat the Bahian team 5-0, with goals from Ju, Larissa (3) and Rafa Barros.
The game
The Red-Blacks started the match trying to put pressure on the opposing team and soon scored their first goal. In the 13th minute, Rafa Barros made a good move down the left flank and crossed into the box. The ball reached Ju, who hit a beautiful shot into the right corner to open the scoring for the Meninas da Gávea. In the 20th minute, Flavia arrived on the left flank and crossed low for Larissa, Gávea's number 9, to tap into the back of the net and make it 2-0 for Mengão.
In the 30th minute, top scorer Larissa received the ball inside the box and finished with a backheel to score a beautiful goal for the Mais Querido (More Beloved): 3-0. In the 35th minute, Rafa Barros received a beautiful pass from Flavia, and from a free position inside the box, he hit the left corner of the opposing goal to score Flamengo's fourth goal. And the first half ended with Flamengo/Marinha opening up a wide 4-0 lead.
The Gávea Girls returned for the second half wanting more. Just 13 minutes in, Rafa Barros advanced down the left flank, reached the byline, and found Larissa free to score another goal, her third of the match and Mengão's fifth. Even with a large lead, Flamengo/Marinha continued to attack São Francisco. In the 31st minute, Larissa received the ball unmarked at the edge of the box and shot the ball, which neatly hit the goalkeeper's right post.

With this result, Flamengo/Marinha finished the first stage in fourth place and now faces Internacional in the quarterfinals of the Brazilian Championship. Because they had the better record, the Rubro-Negro will play the second leg at home.
