Returning to Rio de Janeiro, Flamengo/Marinha will have another challenge in Gávea. This Tuesday (22), the Girls from Gávea face Vitória (PE), at 15 pm, for another round of the Brazilian Women's Football Championship.

In the last round, the red-and-blacks ended up drawing 0-0 with Foz Cataratas/Coritiba. Despite creating good opportunities and putting in a strong collective performance, the teams failed to find the net.

Flamengo currently sits in sixth place in Group 2 with five points, one win, two draws, and one loss. "Mais Querido" is tied with Audax, Foz Cataratas, Ponte Preta, and Portuguesa in points, but trails on goal difference.

In the first stage of the competition, the teams face each other in a home-and-away format. Then, the top four clubs from each of the two groups advance to the quarterfinals, semifinals, and final. All matches will be played in home-and-away format. The Brazilian champion also secures a spot in the 2019 Copa Libertadores.

Vitória heads into the clash against the red-and-blacks after a thrashing in the last round. They hosted Santos and ended up losing 7-0. In four matches, the Pernambuco team has three losses and one draw.

This is the second time the teams have faced each other in the competition's history. In the 2016 Brazilian Championship, Flamengo hosted Vitória at Gávea and came from behind to win 3-1, with goals from Gaby, Pâmela, and Bárbara.
