Flamengo/Marinha returns for the 2019 season
The red-black team begins preparations for three competitions this year

On Monday morning (21), the athletes and coaching staff of the red-black team returned to the Almirante Adalberto Nunes Physical Education Center (CEFAN) and began work in preparation for the year's competitions. After a general meeting early in the morning, the players underwent physical evaluations with club professionals.
Almost two months after winning the State Championship, the Meninas da Gávea are back. Having held their first meeting with the committee and undergoing initial preseason testing, 26 players make up the squad that remained unchanged from last year. In addition to midfielder Juliana, who is with the Brazilian National Team until February 22nd, goalkeepers Kemelli and Stefane, full-back Raquel Maísa, and forward Nathane were also absent from CEFAN, having officially left the Flamengo/Marinha squad. Michele, Jane, and Bárbara completed eight years with Marinha and will not be on the Mais Querido squad.
The red-and-black calendar for 2019 is already set. The Brazilian Women's Championship Series A-1 is scheduled to begin on March 17th and conclude on September 29th. A break in the tournament is planned for the Women's World Cup. Furthermore, the Carioca will be played between September 1st and November 25th. In addition to the commitments against Flamengo, the group will also have another one with the Navy and Brazil: the Military World Games, to be held in China, are scheduled for October 13th to October 27th.
