In another classic for the Copa Rio Feminina, Flamengo beat Botafogo, 3-0, on Saturday morning (2), at the Ronaldo Nazário stadium, in São Cristóvão. The red-black goals were scored by Cristiane and Gisseli (2). With the positive result, the Meninas da Gávea took first place in the competition in goal difference (five advantage).
The game
In a duel between the first and second-place teams in the competition, the match began with a fierce battle for possession. In the 11th minute, Mengão opened the scoring in São Cristóvão! After a throw-in, Crivelari took a shot from outside the box, the goalkeeper rebounded, and Cristiane, always in the right place, finished into the back of the net: 1-0.
After the red-and-black goal, Botafogo began to hold more possession and tried to reach Flamengo's box. In the 30th minute, Gisseli arrived well on the right and attempted a shot, but was blocked by the black-and-white defense.
The Meninas da Gávea then doubled their lead in the first half. Gisseli burst down the right and subtly tapped the ball past the goalkeeper to score the red-and-black's second goal of the match: 2-0. The Mais Querido played a clinical role, scoring twice in two close calls and heading into halftime with a healthy lead.
Early in the second half, Mengão scored their third goal! Crivelari, from the left, crossed the ball into the box at mid-height, and Gisseli caught it first time to score her second of the match: 3-0. It's worth highlighting the excellent performance of Karol Alves, who was closing the goal, preventing Botafogo from reducing the red-black advantage.
With the game practically over, the red-and-black team began to pace its plays more. The intensity of the match also diminished significantly due to the intense heat in São Cristóvão. The game ended with a good victory for Mengão, who now take the lead in the Copa Rio Feminina with 9 points.
