In the fifth round of the Brasileirão Feminino, Flamengo ended up being defeated by Palmeiras 5-2 on Tuesday night (15), at Luso-Brasileiro. Cristiane and Núbia scored the red-black goals. Now, the Meninas da Gávea face Bragantino away from home, in the next round.

The game
The match began with both teams trying to keep the ball in their attacking half, with Palmeiras holding a slight advantage. In the ninth minute, Palmeiras opened the scoring. Greicy crossed into the box, Amanda Gutierres let it go, and Laís Estevam finished for the goal.

Trailing, Flamengo attempted a comeback in the 15th minute. Fernanda received the ball in midfield, dribbled past the defender, and fired a low shot from the edge of the box. The goalkeeper jumped to the left corner and palmed it away for a corner. Palmeiras then doubled their lead, again thanks to Laís Estevam, who headed the ball into the left corner past Isa Cruz: 2-0.

The Meninas da Gávea narrowly avoided pulling one back in the 26th minute. Jucinara crossed into the box, and Cristiane headed it home. The ball hit the crossbar before going out for a goal kick. Soon after, Mengão pulled one back with a stunning goal from Cris! Fernanda crossed into the box, Cristiane got ahead of her marker and stylishly tapped it past the goalkeeper: 2-1.

In the final stretch of the first half, the red-and-black team grew in the match and pressured Palmeiras in search of an equalizer. The São Paulo team, in turn, created chances to extend their lead in stoppage time, but the score remained the same.

In the second half, Flamengo continued to try to equalize. In the 11th minute, Jucinara took a free kick into the box, and Cristiane headed it in. The ball went just wide of Tapia's left post. Then, in the 18th minute, Mengão leveled the score. Jucinara lofted the ball into the box, but Núbia rose to the third floor and deflected it into the net: 2-2.

Palmeiras responded and scored the third in the 26th minute. Amanda Gutierres got the rebound in the box and hit a beautiful shot to put the São Paulo team back in the lead: 3-2. In the final minutes, the green and white team extended the lead with goals from Ingryd and Soll, completing the victory by 5-2.
