This week, part of Flamengo's squad returned for 2021. The athletes underwent Covid-19 tests and, after the results, underwent further tests at Ninho do Urubu. Work on the field begins on Monday (11), at CEFAN.

This season's schedule will be different. At the end of January, the team will begin competing in the 2020 State Championship. The Brazilian Championship is scheduled for March and will have a short break due to the Tokyo Olympics. Finally, another edition of the Carioca Championship will be played.

"The first objective is the State Championship. We're on a winning streak and want to keep it up. Next up is the Brazilian Championship, which is a strong and balanced competition. The entire first phase will be held before the Olympics, and although it will be more hectic, having a packed schedule is better. It has everything to be a competitive year of improvement. That's our expectation. We're going full steam ahead in our pursuit of winning the Carioca Championship and the top spots in the Brazilian Championship," said Celso Silva, the team's coach.
