Flamengo pre-selects 14 athletes in a tryout for the U-16 and U-18 categories
The selection was held at the São Cristóvão field and had 137 girls; coach Marcos Gaspar says he is satisfied
By Rafael Rezende - inLast Saturday (15), Flamengo held the first selection of the year for the U-16 and U-18 teams. In total, 137 girls were evaluated at the São Cristóvão field after presenting complete documentation and medical exams.
With two selection sessions (U-18 in the morning and U-16 in the afternoon), coach Marcos Gaspar was supported by physical trainer André Cavalcanti. The two led the entire activity and performed the analysis. Tiago Vasconcelos, the sport's supervisor, was also present.
It is important to remember that registrations for the selection process were made via the website.
At the end of the process, fourteen athletes (8 for the U-16 and 6 for the U-18) were pre-selected. From now on, they will be evaluated daily along with the group that remained from last year.
"I would like to thank all 137 players for attending the event. The quality of the selection process allowed Flamengo to select girls who, with hard work, will be able to live up to the slogan 'Flamengo makes stars at home'. I am very happy with the final result," said Marcos Gaspar.
The season calendar includes the Brazilian Championship in both categories and the State Championship as well.
