It was based on grit and a lot of emotion! On the morning of this Saturday (13), Flamengo advanced to the semi-final of the Women's Youth Cup after drawing with Ferroviária 1-1 in normal time, with a goal at 49' of the second half, and winning on penalties 4-1. Decisive, Condorelli saved one penalty and saw the other hit the post. Brendha, Cerqueira, Nina Garrit and Isabela Nunes converted and the celebration was 100% red-black.
The game
Pressing high, Flamengo opened the match creating a good opportunity with Papel's shot from outside the area. Minutes later, Ferroviária threatened with an aerial play, but Condorelli made a great save. At 22', Brendha won the header, entered the area and hit the post. On the rebound, Anna Luiza almost opened the scoring. The dominance continued and at 39', in an individual play, Brendha shot and the ball went close. At 42', in the last dangerous moment, Anna Luiza's shot grazed the post and the teams went into halftime tied: 0-0.
On the return leg, Pyetra scored to make it 1-0 for Ferroviária in less than a minute. The Flamengo women's team didn't let the goal affect them, maintaining the same rhythm and almost equalizing in the 16th minute: Kaylane Vieira hit the crossbar. In the 20th minute, Anna Luiza crossed and the opposing defense intercepted before Brendha could reach the ball. In the 30th minute, Kaylane Vieira turned past Ana Elisa and was stopped by Isa Faichel. In the 43rd minute, Laura Mariah also hit the crossbar. And when all seemed lost, Flamengo showed their DNA and didn't give up. In the final play, Brendha fought and was brought down in the area. Penalty. The number 9 player took the penalty, sending the goalkeeper the wrong way, making it 1-1 and taking the game to penalties.
In the shootout, Condorelli saved a penalty, Pyetra hit the post, and all the Flamengo players converted their kicks: Brendha, Cerqueira, Nina Garrit, and Isabela Nunes. The left-back – just like in the Carioca Championship – sealed the 4-1 victory, and CERET became the stage for an unforgettable celebration. Lots of celebration, tears, and a well-deserved spot in the semi-finals of the third edition of the Copinha.
