On Friday afternoon (27), Flamengo secured the long-awaited spot in the semi-finals of the Brazilian Women's Under-20 Championship. With a goal from Gica in the second half, Mais Querido beat Ferroviária 1-0 in the group's direct confrontation and advanced in second place.

The game
The match started out tight, evenly matched, with no chances for either side. Gradually, the red-and-black team loosened up, taking control of the match, and opportunities began to appear. Maria Peck took a good shot, but the goalkeeper saved. Ingrid then crossed for Mariana Fernandes, who headed wide. Despite their dominance, the match went into halftime tied.

In the second half, what was seen in Santana de Parnaíba was a Flamengo team with blood in their eyes the entire time. Cris, a standout performer, took a chance from outside the box and nearly scored. After a corner kick, Mariana Fernandes took it first time, and the defender cleared it off the line. It was clear the goal was coming, and in the 21st minute, it came. Gica turned perfectly, shot with placement, chipped Yanne, and created a true masterpiece: 1-0. After that, Ferroviária tried, but came up against towering defenses from Lorena and Kaylane. Nothing happened. With the advantage and the clock on their side, the Meninas da Gávea just waited for the referee's final whistle. In the first edition of the competition, Mengão achieved their goal and advanced to the semifinals!
