Mengão's journey in Spain started off on the right foot. On Thursday afternoon (10), the team led by Maurício Salgado beat Real Sociedad 2-1 at Stadium Gal. The goals were scored by Isadora and Monalisa, one in each half. 

The game

Pressing hard and pressing, Flamengo dominated the action from the start. Their superiority translated into a goal in the 17th minute. Cris received a good ball in the middle and passed to Isadora. The forward, recently recovered from a knee injury, burst into the box and fired a powerful shot into the corner: 1-0. With the advantage, Flamengo maintained control and threatened again with a good play by Jucinara down the left flank. The first half ended like that. 

After halftime, the Red-Blacks grew even more and nearly extended their lead through Isadora. Crivelari then scored, but the referee disallowed it. In the 12th minute, the Meninas da Gávea scored a stunning goal. In a good collective move, Kaylaine Jr. passed to Duda, who passed to Jucinara. The number 81 shot, and Monalisa skillfully capitalized on the goalkeeper's rebound: 2-0. Real Sociedad pulled one back through Amaiur, but the match remained under control. In the closing stages, Crivelari hit the crossbar, and Gisseli narrowly missed adding a third. At the final whistle, the players celebrated, and the victory was 2-1.
