It's a champion! In the Carioca Women's final, Flamengo beat Botafogo 2-1 on Sunday morning (19), in Gávea, and won its seventh Rio de Janeiro State title. Darlene and Cris scored Mengão's goals in the first half. Rubro-Negro is the club with the most titles in the competition!

The game
Under heavy rain in Gávea, the derby started evenly, with both teams looking to maintain possession. Flamengo exchanged passes in the attacking half, looking for space in Botafogo's defense, which dropped back to invest in counterattacks.

In the 41st minute, Mengão opened the scoring with a stunning goal! Darlene, in midfield, saw the goalkeeper out of position and took a shot. The ball went into the corner: 1-0. Three minutes later, the Meninas da Gávea scored the second goal! Darlene made the tackle in the defense and passed to Cris at speed. The number 8 beat the defender and shot low past the goalkeeper: 2-0. The red-and-black team went into halftime with a healthy lead.

Less than a minute into the second half, Botafogo was awarded a penalty. Kélen took the penalty and reduced the deficit to 2-1. Flamengo continued to press, looking to extend their lead. In the 12th minute, Duda passed the ball to Darlene, who took a shot from outside the box. The goalkeeper made the save.

In the final stretch, the Meninas da Gávea knew how to manage the result and left the field with the victory over their rival, winning the seventh Carioca Feminino championship.
