Flamengo's run in the Brazilian Women's Under-17 Championship started off on the right foot. On Monday morning (13), Rubro-Negro beat Atlético-MG 1-0 at Osvaldo Faria Stadium, taking a very important step in their quest to qualify for the semifinal stage. The goal - a true wonder goal - was scored by Kaylane Vieira.
The game
Mengão's calling card came just three minutes in. Cerqueira received the ball in the middle and delivered a beautiful pass to Kaylane Vieira, who burst into the box and hit a shot into the top corner: 1-0. Soon after, Alice had the opportunity to extend the lead, but shot over the bar. After the timeout, the duel was tight and very tight in midfield, but the advantage remained in place until halftime.
In the second half, the tone of balance continued, and Mais Querido defended well and held on to the lead. With Jamile's introduction, the team gained momentum up front and created two good chances. At the final whistle, the Meninas da Gávea celebrated wildly, earning three crucial points in a group where only one team advances.
And now?
The next match for the team led by Filipe Torres will be on Wednesday (15), against Athletico-PR, at 14 pm, at Arena Morro das Pedras. It is important to note that the competition has a single venue in Belo Horizonte.
