The game
Flamengo started the first half with a bang, and just three minutes in, Flávia opened the scoring! Rafa Barros made an individual run down the right and passed the ball into the six-yard box for the number 9 to tap it into the back of the net: 1-0. In the 7th minute, Botafogo came close, forcing goalkeeper Kaká to make a great save.
At 18', Mengão extended the lead with a beautiful free kick from Ana Carla: 2-0. Trailing on the scoreboard, the black and white team began to threaten Fla's goal more, and at 41', they reduced the deficit with Brendinha: 2-1. In a very busy first half, the Meninas da Gávea finished in front.
In the second half, Botafogo came back more focused and began attacking the red-and-black team more with balls lofted into the box. In the 34th minute, Jayanne was one-on-one with the goal, but the black-and-white goalkeeper saved. In the final minutes, Rafa Barros burst into the box and unleashed a powerful shot, but it was pinned by the defense and sent out for a corner. The match ended in a 2-1 victory for the red-and-black team, thus achieving their fifth consecutive victory in the championship.
