Flamengo achieved an important away victory on Friday night (22). At Sesc Campestre, in Porto Alegre, the Meninas da Gávea defeated Internacional 1-0, in the 12th round of the Brasileirão Feminino. The Flamengo goal was scored by Jucinara, at the beginning of the second half. With the result, the team led by Celso Silva reached 22 points and entered the G4 of the national competition, occupying fourth place.

The game

With less than a minute of play, Flamengo created their first opportunity. Cristiane received a through ball, outpaced her marker, and shot from the edge of the box. The ball deflected off the defense and went out for a goal kick.

At eight minutes, Fernanda made a good play on the left and crossed into the area. Djeni appeared as a surprise element and headed dangerously, but the ball grazed the crossbar. With more possession, the Flamengo women's team continued to press. At 17 minutes, Cristiane tried again from outside the area and forced the goalkeeper to make a good save. Despite Flamengo's dominance, the first half ended goalless.

Early in the second half, Flamengo came close to opening the scoring. Núbia received the ball inside the area and shot powerfully, hitting the post. The Rubro-Negro, the better team on the pitch, were rewarded in the 12th minute. Jucinara took a powerful free kick; the goalkeeper tried to parry it, but the ball ended up going in: 1-0 for Mengão.

Trailing behind, Internacional began to attack more, but encountered a well-organized and secure Flamengo defense. In the final stretch, the home team increased the pressure in search of an equalizer, but Flamengo managed to maintain their lead and secured an important victory away from home, guaranteeing their place in the top four of the Brazilian Women's Championship.
