Agustina and Vitória Almeida scored the goals in the 2-1 victory, in a match of the fourth round of the national competition
By Romulo Paranhos - inIn the game that opened the fourth round of the Brasileirão Feminino, Flamengo beat Sport 2-1 this Friday (11), at Ilha do Retiro, and achieved their second victory in the national competition. Agustina and Vitória Almeida scored for Mengão, which currently occupies fourth place in the championship with 7 points.

The game
The match started with a well-thought-out approach, with both teams trying to lock in their defense. With the majority of possession, the Meninas da Gávea (Girls from Gávea) tried to attack by passing. Sport, on the other hand, adopted a more defensive stance. Until the 10th minute, Mengão opened the scoring at Ilha do Retiro. After a pass into the box, Glaucia laid it off for Fernanda, who dribbled past the defender and shot toward goal. The defense cleared the ball, and Agustina pounced on the rebound, firing a well-placed shot from the edge of the box to swell the net: 1-0.
With the advantage, the red-and-black team opened up more and continued to create chances to extend their lead. In the 21st minute, Ju Ferreira took a shot with her outside of the box, and the goalkeeper jumped into the left corner to save Sport. On the counterattack, the Pernambuco team leveled the score with a Géssica shot: 1-1.
In stoppage time, Laysa was brought down in the box, but the referee didn't award a penalty and allowed play to continue. The Mais Querido had the better of the game and created more chances, but went into halftime tied.
In the second half, the Meninas da Gávea returned to pressuring Sport's attacking play to regain possession in the attacking half. And this pressure paid off in the eighth minute. After a steal, Cristiane received the ball at the edge of the box and shot toward goal. The ball hit the crossbar, and the goalkeeper grabbed the rebound.
In the 19th minute, Cristiane made a solo run down the right, beat her marker, and shot at goal from a poor angle. The goalkeeper managed to clear it for a corner. Flamengo had a great opportunity to score their second in the 32nd minute. Mariana raced down the left side of the box and struck hard. The ball hit the crossbar and bounced back to Cristiane, who ended up shooting wide.
After much persistence, Mengão scored the second goal in the 38th minute. After a corner kick hit the near post, Vitória Almeida headed the ball to put the red-and-blacks back in front: 2-1. Soon after, Flamengo had a penalty awarded to Valéria Cantuário. The striker herself stepped up to take the penalty but missed the chance for a third goal. Nanda jumped to the left corner and made the save.
In stoppage time, the Meninas da Gávea managed the result and left the field with their second victory in the Brasileirão Feminino, the first away from home.
