On Tuesday afternoon (8), Flamengo beat Universidad de Chile, 2-1, in Araraquara, in the first round of the Ladies Cup. Gica, Sole Jaimes and Duda Rodrigues scored the red-black goals in the match. With the result, the Mais Querido came out ahead in group A of the competition, which in addition to the Chilean team, includes São Paulo and Ferroviária.

The Meninas da Gávea return to the field next Thursday (10), to face the São Paulo team, at 18 pm, at the Jauzão stadium.

 

The game

Flamengo started the match on top of their opponents and quickly found the net. In the 5th minute, Cida crossed from the right; Monalisa passed the ball to the middle of the box, Gica finished and opened the scoring in Araraquara: 1-0 Flamengo.

At 10', Universidad de Chile tied the game, after a mistake by the red-black defense: 1-1. The Meninas da Gávea soon regained control of the game and pressed until the end of the first half, but the teams went into the break with the draw.

At the beginning of the second half, Bárbara, the day's debutant, made a great save.

Next, Maria Alves crossed to Sole Jaimes, and the striker headed powerfully, forcing a good save from the opposing goalkeeper. Maria Alves had a good chance inside the box and shot dangerously, the ball just missing. Mengão was pressing hard.

And the red-and-blacks' momentum was rewarded! After Jucinara's cross from the left, Sole Jaimes headed the ball into the net: 2-1.

The girls didn't give up and continued to press their opponents. In the final stretch of the match, Duda Rodrigues received the ball in the box and extended the lead: 3-1 Flamengo.

Duda's goal gave the final score to the match.
