In the return of the Brazilian Women's Championship, Flamengo drew 2-2 with Grêmio this Friday (24), at Luso-Brasileiro, in a match valid for the 13th round of the national competition. After falling behind on the scoreboard, Rubro-Negro showed the ability to react, turned the match around at the beginning of the second half, but ended up conceding the equalizer in stoppage time. Mariana and Fernanda scored the goals for the Meninas da Gávea.

The game

The match started slowly at the Luso-Brasileiro stadium. Flamengo, with more possession, exchanged passes trying to break through Grêmio's defense. Despite the promising start by the Flamengo women's team, Grêmio opened the scoring. Núbia tried to play the ball out from the back inside the area, Leidiane anticipated the play, stole the ball and sent it into the net: 1-0.

Flamengo's reaction was immediate. Jucinara reached the end line and crossed into the area. Fabi Simões deflected the ball, it fell to Mariana, who finished into the goal, making it 1-1.

Flamengo almost managed to turn the game around in the first half. Mariana received the ball at speed, entered the area, cut past the defender and shot dangerously. The ball went just over the crossbar and almost lobbed goalkeeper Sol. Thus, the teams went into halftime tied.

Right at the start of the second half, Flamengo turned the game around. Fabi Simões made a great play down the right flank, went to the byline and delivered a perfect cross for Fernanda, who volleyed it home to score Flamengo's second goal: 2-1.

With the lead, the Flamengo women's team continued to press in search of a third goal. In the 13th minute, Djeni made a good play through the middle and found Fernanda, who shot first-time from the edge of the area. The ball grazed the left post of goalkeeper Sol.

As time went on, the match became more balanced, with both teams looking to attack. In the final stretch, Brenda received the ball at the edge of the area, beat her marker and shot. The ball deflected on its way, and Sol made the save, sending it out for a corner.

In stoppage time, Grêmio equalized. Rodríguez advanced down the right flank, entered the penalty area, and delivered a low cross for Iara to finish into the back of the net: 2-2. In the final minutes, Flamengo tried to press for the win, but the score remained unchanged.
