Saturday (16) was the debut for the Girls of Gávea. At Castelo Branco University, in Realengo, Flamengo/Marinha beat América-RJ 5-0 and secured the three points at the start of the Rio de Janeiro Women's Football Championship. The goals were scored by Ju, twice, Rayane, Larissa and Daiana.
The match started evenly on the field. Despite dominating the attacking play in the first half, Flamengo/Marinha needed to be careful defensively and managed to safely deflect América's attacks. In the 35th minute, Rayane received the ball on the left and opened the scoring with a stunning goal, leaving the opposing goalkeeper with no chance.
In the second half, Flamengo returned to the game motivated to quickly seal the result. Goalkeeper Maike, who replaced Kaká at halftime, worked very little and watched as the defense denied América every chance, making it difficult for Flamengo to prevent the rout.
In the fourth minute, Ju took a long-range shot and hit a beautiful shot, extending Mengo's lead. After that, the pressure continued to mount, and Daiana, who had been on the field for three minutes, scored Flamengo/Marinha's third goal in the 4th minute. Shortly after, it was forward Larissa's turn to score with another stunning goal.
To close the afternoon of great goals and a lot of red-black desire, in the 44th minute, Mais Querido crossed from the right, Pâmela tried and Ju got the rebound, putting it in the back of the net and closing the score at 5-0.
The Girls from Gávea are already preparing for the next challenge. On Saturday (23), at 15 pm, Flamengo receives Cruzeiro FC at the Almirante Adalberto Nunes Physical Education Center (CEFAN), for the second round of the Carioca Championship.
