Flamengo/Marinha thrashes América and finishes Carioca Women's Championship undefeated

The girls from Gávea ended the season with a great result at CEFAN

After securing the State title in the last round, Flamengo/Marinha returned to the field on Wednesday afternoon (1) to face América in the closing of the final triangular of the 2017 Women's Carioca Championship. With a beautiful collective performance, Mais Querido won 12-0 at CEFAN and guaranteed a great campaign with 100% success.

In the first half, Bárbara opened the scoring early in the match. Shortly after, Larissa extended the lead, and Pâmela scored twice more for Flamengo, ending the first half with the score at 4-0.

In the final 45 minutes, Daiana, Ju, and Jane found the net early. Later, Bárbara, Ju, and Rayane doubled the lead before the half-hour mark. Coming on in the second half, Nathane and Carol also scored goals, helping Flamengo finish the match 30-12.

The positive result at CEFAN marked the end of the 2017 women's soccer season. Having reached the quarterfinals of the Brazilian Championship and become three-time champions of the Carioca, Flamengo/Marinha's record is positive, but the Meninas da Gávea are looking for more. Now on vacation, the Mais Querido begins preseason training on November 20th, aiming for next year.
