Flamengo/Marinha leads Carioca and debuts with victory in the Brazilian Championship

Women's soccer team wins state championship and defeats Brazilian Cup champion at national level

Flamengo/Marinha's women's soccer team has had a great run in the Campeonato Carioca. After taking the lead in the first round of the competition, the girls continue to score big wins and have already secured a spot in the final with two rounds to spare. Flamengo defeated Karanba (6-0), Bangu (3-0), and last Friday (September 04.09th) Duque de Caxias 10-0.

In addition to the overwhelming campaign in the Campeonato Carioca, Flamengo/Marinha debuted this Sunday (06.09) in the Brasileirão of the category. With a good performance, the girls beat Kindermann-SC, current champion of the Copa do Brasil and runner-up of the Brasileirão, by 2 to 0.

The match, which took place at the Municipal Stadium of Caçador-SC, had two goals from striker Vigia, both in the second half. Flamengo/Marinha started in the lead in group 2 and faces Portuguesa next Sunday (13.09) in Gávea.
