Esporte Clube Iranduba da Amazônia began its activities in 2011 and has since won six titles in the Amazon Women's Football Championship. In the last edition of the Brasileirão, the team achieved strong results in the first stage, finishing undefeated in second place in Group 1. However, in the following stage, Hulk failed to achieve the same performance, finishing last in their group.

In the 2017 Brazilian Championship, there were 14 games, 12 wins and two losses, scoring 31 goals and conceding 10. With the second best defense in the competition, Iranduba was one of the highlights of Group 1.

Retrospect
The teams have already faced each other twice, both times in the 2016 Brazilian Championship. On both occasions, Flamengo/Marinha won: the first 3-1 at home and the second 2-1 in Manaus.
