Flamengo/Marinha has 22 world champions
The red-black team is made up of the same girls who won gold for the National Team at the Military Games

This October, Flamengo/Marinha was without 22 athletes in the Rio de Janeiro and Brazilian women's soccer championships due to the Military World Games (MWG) in South Korea. But the red-and-blacks' trip was worth it. Representing the Brazilian national team, the girls won gold in the competition after beating France 2-1 in the final kick of extra time, with goals from Vigia and Bárbara.
In the qualifying round, the girls opened with a 1-0 victory over the Netherlands and then drew 1-1 with Germany. Having qualified first in their group, they advanced to the semifinals and defeated Korea, also in overtime, 1-0. The victory qualified the girls for the final against the French.
The Brazilian delegation finished its participation in the sixth edition of the WMM with second place in the medal table, achieving its goal of finishing among the top five. Across 24 events, Brazil won 34 gold medals, 26 silver medals, and 24 bronze medals, surpassed only by Russia.

The athletes who remained in Brazil took the field last Sunday in the Brazilian Championship against Tiradentes-PI. Playing in Teresina, the girls lost 1-0. Their next match will be on Wednesday at 18 pm against América-MG at the Arena do Jacaré in Sete Lagoas. The game will be broadcast on TV Brasil.
