The game
The Meninas da Gávea started the match strongly and opened the scoring after just seven minutes. Maria Alves capitalized on a rebound inside the box and scored a beautiful goal: 0-1. Mengão continued to dominate possession and exchanged passes, looking for space in Atlético's defense.
In the 19th minute, Duda delivered a good pass to Tuane, who struck a powerful shot that was well saved by goalkeeper Nicole. Around the 20th minute, the game lost intensity, and both teams valued possession more. In the 32nd minute, Monalisa sent a short corner to Leidiane, who crossed into the box, and Duda nearly scored the second after a mistake by the goalkeeper.
In the final stretch of the first half, Kaylane made a crucial clearance on the line and prevented Atlético-MG from equalizing. In the 45th minute, Leidiane took a fine free kick, Nicole stretched to make the save, and the ball hit the crossbar. Thaisa couldn't convert the rebound. Atlético-MG went into halftime with the lead.
Early in the second half, Atlético pushed forward, making it difficult for Flamengo to get the ball out. In the 13th minute, Duda broke through the middle and took a shot from the edge of the box, but the goalkeeper saved it. In the 22nd minute, Gisseli crossed, Thaisa controlled it, dribbling past two defenders, and shot toward goal. Nicole made a good save.
In the final stretch of the game, Duda committed a foul to kill off a counterattack, earning a second yellow card and being sent off. Downnumbered, the Meninas da Gávea managed to hold on and secure the victory at Independência.
