Mengão women's soccer team returns for the 2025 season
Athletes met with the technical committee and underwent tests in Gávea
By Flamengo Communication - inThis Monday morning (6) was a time of reintroduction for the red-black women's football team. At Mengão's social headquarters, the athletes had a quick chat with coach Maurício Salgado and then carried out some pre-season exams.
Chai, Driely, Flavia Mota, Fernanda, Ju Ferreira, and Vivi Holzel, recently announced, made their presence felt and officially joined the group. Remaining on the roster are goalkeepers Barbieri, Bibi, Isa Cruz, and Karol Alves; full-backs Diovanna, Fabi Simões, Jucinara, and Monalisa; defenders Agustina, Núbia, and Sorriso; midfielders Djeni, Leidiane, Louvain, and Thaisa; and forwards Cristiane, Duda Rodrigues, Glaucia, Laysa, Pimenta, and Valéria Cantuário. Additionally, Barraca, Letícia, and Mariana, last year's Brasileirão U-20 champions, have been permanently integrated into the professional squad.
Throughout the week, the Meninas da Gávea will undergo further physical exams and tests before beginning their ball training. Flamengo will initially have four competitions on its 2025 calendar, which will be announced by the CBF: the Brasileirão, the Campeonato Carioca, the Copa Rio, and the Supercopa.
