This Thursday morning (6) was unforgettable for attacking midfielder Glaucia. A great highlight of Flamengo in 2024, she was called up by coach Arthur Elias and will wear the Brazilian National Team shirt in the first training period of 2025. The presentation is scheduled for February 17, at Granja Comary.

Living one of the best phases of her career and with a contract until the end of the season with Mais Querido, Glaucia is beginning to reap the rewards of all the work she has done since arriving in Rio de Janeiro after standing out in São Paulo football.

"This call-up is a very important achievement for me, an indescribable feeling. When I arrived here, I set a goal and knew I would have to work hard to achieve it. So, I did my part, had great support from the staff, and I wanted to thank the club for believing in me. I'll never forget the moment I heard my name. I can't put into words what I felt; all I could do was cry," she said, deeply moved.

Announced at the beginning of last year, the athlete became a starter as the competitions progressed and quickly won over the nation. In the final stretch of the first half of the year, and especially in the second, she improved, had strong performances, and was instrumental in the Rio de Janeiro title.

"My development process is something that makes me very proud, because it didn't happen overnight. It took sweat and a lot of effort. The fans' recognition is for everything I've been doing, and I'm fully aware of that. Being at Flamengo is a privilege, and I try to enjoy every day. The pressure is great, but it's part of the game. When I step onto the field wearing the Sacred Mantle, I give my all," he commented.

With a story of overcoming adversity, the red-and-black star is aware of what she needs to do to stay on the Amarelinha's radar and wants to remain an inspiration for younger athletes.

"Making it to the national team after everything I've been through gives me the certainty that I'm on the right path. Nothing has come easy, so I like to celebrate every step in my career. I'll continue doing my part to make it happen more often. It's a unique feeling, and I want to be able to leave a legacy for the new generations emerging in women's football. Today, here at Flamengo, I often say that I have my "borrowed daughters." Since the club invests heavily in its youth academy, I know I have to set a good example, and I intend to continue that way," she concluded.
