Guide to the Brazilian Under-16 Women's Football Championship

Rubro-Negro's debut will be this Saturday (07), against Cruzeiro, at 15 pm

The Brazilian Women's Under-16 Championship is about to begin! This Saturday (07), at 15 pm, Flamengo will make its debut in the competition against Cruzeiro at Arena do Calçado, in Nova Serrana-MG. In group A, the Girls from Gávea will also have Corinthians (09) and Santos (11) ahead of them in the first phase.

The team has already arrived in Minas Gerais to compete in the championship, and coach Marcos Gaspar spoke about expectations and preparation.

"Every Brazilian women's youth soccer competition is balanced. This is largely because the athletes still have little experience in matches, training, and tournaments. In the U-16 category, some of our girls participated in the Brazilian Championship and the U-18 Carioca Championship. This situation gives us greater confidence in our performance in the competition. Our group is considered the most difficult, but we're going after the best possible result to further crown Flamengo's fantastic year," she commented.

Dispute format

Twelve teams are divided into three groups of four. The top three teams and the best runner-up advance to the semifinal stage. The final will be a single match and is scheduled for December 15th (Sunday).
