Historic! Flamengo/Marinha thrashes Greminho 56-0 in the Women's Carioca Championship

The girls from Gávea play an incredible game and make history in world football thanks to the huge score.

This Saturday morning (28) was historic for football. Playing intensely from the start, Flamengo/Marinha took no notice of Greminho and applied the biggest rout ever seen in the world: 56 to 0.

The game

Ten minutes into the first half, Rubro-Negro was already leading 6-0, with goals from Aryane, Raiza, Karen (2), and Rafaela Barros. This was the tone of the match. Soon after, Samhia (2), Karen, Flavia (2), and Raiza extended the lead to 12-0. At this point, the clock was still in the 30s. In the final fifteen minutes, Mais Querido unleashed an avalanche at CEFAN. The team scored 17 times with Flavia (8), Samhia (3), Rafaela Barros (3), Aryane (2), and Raiza, and went into the locker room leading 29-0.

In the second half, the intensity remained the same. The first goal was an own goal, after a beautiful play by Samhia. Aryane, Rafaela (2), Barros, Raiza (2), and Flavia scored in quick succession. By the 11th minute, it was 36-0. Debora Sorriso scored her 37th and broke the drought. Later, another own goal preceded another barrage of goals: Flavia (3), Raiza (5), Lu Meireles, Renata, and Samhia (2) gave Mengão their 50th. In the end, Raiza and Lu Meireles each scored two more, Debora Sorriso scored her second, and Samhia sealed the score: 56-0. An unforgettable result.

Repercussion

Coach Ricardo Abrantes celebrated the historic victory and congratulated all the athletes for their performance:

"We were happy with the score. Helping Flamengo break a record like that is something that makes us very happy. The other team was weaker, but the girls did their part. It's a competition. It was a serious performance, without underestimating anyone, and I can say that we achieved our goal."

Top scorer in the match with 14 goals, Flavia discussed the work done and celebrated:

"Yesterday we practiced finishing all morning, and that resulted in 56 goals. We are very happy with this result, because our effort paid off."

The next match in the competition is scheduled for Sunday (06), at 15 pm, against the CUFA Selection.
