Last weekend, the CBF organized an event focused on women's soccer in partnership with the Alagoas Football Federation. More than 150 girls participated in a tryout at the UFAL Sports Complex in Maceió, and Mengão was represented by Jaqueane Correa. The three-day program was extensive.
The arrival of the professional team's assistant coach, who was part of the observation group, highlights the club's affection for the sport, particularly in the development of the youth teams. The search for younger athletes is one of the main goals for the future.
"The participation was very important. What pleased me most was seeing the number and quality of the girls present. The setting is perfect for playing, and this is a sign that women's soccer is growing significantly. The weight of representing the club is significant and shows that we have a strong mentality across all categories. We want to develop our base and further activate the process of developing a profile with red-and-black DNA," stated Jaqueane.
With Jaque back on the sidelines alongside Celso Silva, the Meninas da Gávea will face Vasco, next Sunday (21), at home, in the semi-final of the Campeonato Carioca.
