The new athletes of Mais Querido Tânia Maranhão and Andréia dos Santos, Maycon, who are part of the Flamengo women's soccer team, together with the Navy, were officially presented this Thursday (16.07), along with the rest of the team. They are medalists for the Brazilian National Team, with two gold medals to their name, from the 2003 and 2007 Pan American Games, and two silver medals, from the 2004 and 2008 Olympics.
Tânia, who will once again represent Brazil at the Military World Games in October, couldn't hide her joy at donning the Sacred Mantle. "I've always been a Flamengo fan, and now I've realized my dream. I think this was the only thing missing in my career. Wearing the Sacred Mantle is a source of great pride," said the athlete.
Maycon praised the union of the institutions, which will favor the development of the sport. "The Manto Sagrado is my second skin. I'm very happy. Marinha and Flamengo together, there's no way it can go wrong. Representing my country and playing for my favorite team, passion speaks louder."
