Kaylane and Cris are called up to the U-20 National Team
Professional athletes are on the top list of the category in 2022
By Flamengo Communication - inMembers of the red-black main squad, Kaylane and Cris were called up for the first training period of the year for the U-20 team, in Sorocaba, between February 14th and 23rd. They will report after the Super Cup to prepare for the South American Championship in the category, scheduled for April.
At Flamengo since 2020, Kaylane was the club's most-capped player last season. The defender/defensive midfielder played in six competitions: the Campeonato Carioca (twice), the Brazilian Under-2 Championship (twice), the Brasileirão, and the Women's Cup. A standout in Flamengo's sixth state championship, the "Girl from Gávea" boasts immense physical strength, makes easy tackles, and is one of the club's best one-on-one markers. A regular in several squads, she's a major prospect for the Mais Querido team, both now and in the future.
Cris arrived in 2022 after an excellent stint in São Paulo football. A defensive midfielder with excellent passing accuracy and attacking presence, she has already won the South American U-17 Championship with the Amarelinha and is also a well-known figure on Jonas Urias' lists. The youngster has been one of the big names in the professional team's preseason and is available to coach Luis Andrade for Mengão's season debut, next Sunday (6), against ESMAC-PA, at 10:30 am, in the Luso-Brasileiro.
