In an electrifying and breathtaking duel, the Meninas da Gávea did not give up and achieved a great victory on Monday morning (12), against Minas Brasília, 1-0, with a goal from Kaylane Souza in stoppage time. The result keeps Mais Querido in the isolated leadership of group A.
The game
Aware of the match's importance, Flamengo started with three forwards and applied a lot of pressure. Despite having more possession, the team didn't create many chances, but they nearly opened the scoring with Duda Rodrigues after a good pass from Pimenta. Once again solid defensively and playing practically in the opponent's half, Flamengo tried a few plays in the final stretch, but went into halftime tied at 0-0.
In the second half, the team grew after the introduction of left-back Ana Portugal and the shift of Diovanna to the middle. In a dangerous play, Duda Rodrigues ran down the wing and was only stopped by the goalkeeper. Pimenta then spun in the box and shot wide. The offensive momentum only paid off in stoppage time. Lorena passed to Diovanna, who hit the post. On the rebound, Jaqueline delivered a beautiful backheel pass to Kaylane Souza, who fired a powerful shot into the net: 1-0, plenty of celebration on the field, and three points.
