Flamengo scores second consecutive victory in the Campeonato Carioca and has already scored 19 goals in the competition
By Isabela Abirached - inThis Saturday afternoon (6) was another victory for the Meninas da Gávea. Playing at home, at CEFAN, Flamengo beat Pérolas Negras 9-0 and achieved their second victory in two games in the Campeonato Carioca.
The goals were scored by Flávia (2), Rafa Barros, Jayanne, Sorriso, Ana Carla (2) and Carol Ladaga (2).
"When the team works well, the individual performance flows. I'm happy with the two goals on my debut, but most importantly, I want to congratulate the team," said Ladaga.
The game
Mengão started the match attacking their opponents, exploiting the baseline and winning a few corners, but they couldn't create any significant scoring chances. Meanwhile, goalkeeper Kaká wasn't required in the red-and-black goal either, until the 15th minute of the first half, when Pérolas Negras came close but was flagged for offside.
At 19, she hit a shot and rebounded in the six-yard box, with the ball bouncing inches from the goal line, and the Red-Blacks almost opened the scoring. But the first goal wasn't long in coming: at 24, Flávia, almost inside the goal, pushed it into the back of the net, her third of the competition.
In the final ten minutes of the first half, the match became more contested and evenly matched, but it was the Mais Querido who extended their lead: once again, facing goal, Flávia made no mistake. Before halftime, there was still time for Rafa Barros, in the 45th minute, to cross a shot from the edge of the penalty area to make it 3-0.
Back in the second half, Flamengo secured the win from the very first play: 4-0 with a goal from Jayanne, who had just replaced Aryane. Minutes later, Sorriso extended the lead with a fifth from the penalty spot. In the 20th minute, Ana Carla scored her first of the game and Flamengo's sixth with a well-placed free kick from the edge of the box. The captain and number 10 also scored the seventh goal in the 30th minute of the second half, with a flick into the goalkeeper's right corner. With five minutes remaining in regulation, Carol Ladaga added a brace to seal the victory: 9-0.

Mengão will have the next round off and will only return to the field for the Carioca for the classic against Vasco, on the 20th, Saturday, at 15:30 pm, at the Nivaldo Pereira stadium.
