By Flamengo Communication - inScorer of two goals in the Unifoot Diamante Pro Cup final, where Mengão was crowned undefeated champion, Mariana Fernandes was called up by Jonas Urias to participate in the last training period before the final list of athletes who will compete in the U-20 World Cup was announced.
Mariana received the news yesterday morning and immediately flew to Granja Comary. She trained with the group, which has included Cris and Kaylane Júnior since the beginning, in the afternoon. In a quick interview with the official website, the forward couldn't hide her emotion and offered a special thanks.
"It's always exciting, an indescribable feeling to once again have the opportunity to represent my country and develop my football skills. It's a privilege earned through dedication and hard work. First and foremost, I'm grateful to God, and I also thank my family and friends, but I can't forget the committee and my team. None of this would be possible without them. Individual work only shines through strong teamwork," she declared.
This is the second time that MF7, a great standout from the youth team, has been called up in 2022. So far, in addition to the Unifoot Cup, Menina da Gávea has played the Brazilian U-17 and the Brazilian U-20 this season.
