The Women's Super Cup is just around the corner and the Gávea Girls continue to work hard at CEFAN. On Sunday (9), Mengão will face Real Brasília at 16 pm at Bezerrão Stadium in the quarterfinals. The winner of the single-game clash will secure a spot in the semifinals.

The opponent is a familiar face. In the 2023 edition, for example, the teams faced each other. On that occasion, the red-and-black team won 3-2. For Maurício Salgado, this factor was crucial in their preparation, after all, the Mais Querido knows what lies ahead in the Federal District.

"Regarding the duel, we know how difficult it will be. Our team is very offensive, and we'll be facing a team with excellent marking ability. Real Brasília is one of the forces in the Brazilian Championship, with a wealth of experience competing at this level, but we've studied, prepared, and will seek a positive result from the start based on our imposition," he analyzed.

After today's activity, the coach assessed the entire situation and praised the work the coaching staff did with the players.

"Expectations are high; we want to play a great game. When we start the season, the first major objective is always a good performance in the Super Cup, so there's a mix of anxiety and the desire to make it work. We know that the teams are still in the preseason process, including Flamengo itself, but we're confident in our schedule. We've emphasized the physical aspect, played a few games beforehand, focusing precisely on the squad's minutes, and now we're going all out to Brasília, focused on playing a great game and qualifying," he explained.

TV Globo and SporTV will broadcast the match live.
