Flamengo's debut in the U-17 Women's Rio Cup was on the right foot. Playing at home, Mais Querido imposed its rhythm from the beginning and took no notice of América on Saturday morning (16): 9-0. The goals of the great victory were scored by Alice (2), Isabela Nunes (2), Jamile (2), Dudinha, Giovanna Célia and Leane. 

The game

The Gávea Girls started the match dominating. Just six minutes in, Dudinha unleashed a beautiful shot from outside the box to open the scoring. Controlling the action, the team extended their lead with Isabela Nunes, who scored a stunning goal: 2-0. In the 31st minute, it was Leane's turn to chip the opposing goalkeeper and score the third. After an América defender was sent off, Alice received a beautiful cross from Isabela Nunes and headed home powerfully. Jamile then dribbled past the goalkeeper to score another for Mengão: 5-0. In the 41st minute, Isabela Nunes capped her fine performance with a cross-shot. In the final minutes of a blistering first half, Isabela Nunes flicked a low shot, and Jamile had only to tap it into the net: 7-0. 

In the second half, some substitutions were made, but the team maintained its identity, and the pressing continued. The eighth goal came from Alice, also from outside the box. With such a strong lead, the Red-Blacks created numerous opportunities and only sealed the victory in stoppage time with Giovanna Célia, who capitalized on a rebound: 9-0 and an unforgettable start to the tournament.
