Mengão thrashes Angra dos Reis 11-0 in the Women's Cariocão Championship
The girls from Gávea face Portuguesa in the last round of the Guanabara Cup

In the eighth round of the Carioca Women's Championship, Flamengo thrashed Angra dos Reis 11-0 on Wednesday afternoon (10), at CEFAN. The Rubro-Negro's goals were scored by Rafa Barros (3), Raquel, Dedê, Jayanne (2), Ana Carla, Flávia (2) and Cida. With the result, Mengão secured first place in the Guanabara Cup.
The game
The Gávea Girls started the match dominating possession and, just seven minutes in, opened the scoring through Rafa Barros. After a pass, the number 7 entered the box and tapped the ball past the goalkeeper: 1-0. Raquel then headed in a corner to make it 2-0.
In the 10th minute, another goal! Dedê received the ball from Rafa Barros and simply tapped it into the back of the net, scoring his first goal on his return to the club: 3-0. The following minute, it was Jayanne's turn to score Mengão's fourth goal: 4-0. In the 23rd minute, Ana Carla struck with her left foot and scored Flamengo's fifth: 5-0.
Flávia, at 31', received the ball inside the box and scored the sixth goal for Rubro-Negro: 6-0. At 39', Cida took advantage of a rebound inside the box to head it in powerfully, as the script dictates: 7-0. The Meninas da Gávea went into the break with a large advantage on the scoreboard.
Less than a minute into the second half, Flávia scored her second goal of the match and the eighth for Mengão, who had the advantage on the field: 8-0. In the eleventh minute, Rafa Barros made a good play on the baseline and crossed for Jayanne to just push into the goal, scoring her second goal of the game: 9-0.
And Mengão was hungry for goals! In the 30th minute, Raquel passed to Rafa Barros inside the box, and the striker hit a powerful cross to score the tenth goal: 10-0. In the 38th minute, Rafa Barros scored her hat trick of the match! The center forward took a chance with a shot from outside the box, and the ball flew over the goalkeeper: 11-0. With another impeccable performance, the Meninas da Gávea secured their eighth consecutive victory and took first place in the competition.
And now?
Before competing in the final stages of the State Championship, Mais Querido returns to the field next Saturday (13) to face Portuguesa-RJ, at 15 pm, in Gávea, for the last round of the Taça Guanabara.
