Flamengo's debut in the Brazilian Women's Under-20 Championship was a good one! Playing away from home, at the Ronaldo Luís Nazário de Lima Stadium, the Mais Querido thrashed Real Heips 8-0 on Thursday afternoon (12). The goals in the great victory were scored by Anna Luiza (2), Carol Martins (2), Leane (2), Laís and Maria Fernanda.

The game

Despite being the visiting team, the team imposed its rhythm and played in the opponent's half from the start. Knowing that winning was crucial, the Rubro-Negro opened the scoring in the 13th minute, with Anna Luiza's beautiful shot from the edge of the box. The captain—the best player on the pitch in the first half—created good chances and narrowly missed scoring two stunning goals in quick succession.

In the 37th minute, Isabela Nunes dribbled past three defenders on the left flank and crossed into the box. The goalkeeper saved, but her clearance was misplaced, and Maria Fernanda capitalized to make it 2-0. The third goal was a real treat. Carol Martins played a one-two with Duda Mattos and passed it through to Anna Luiza, who set up a cutback, fooled the entire defense, and left Kaylane Vieira free. The forward burst into the box and passed to Leane, who slammed the ball into the net before halftime.

Upon resumption, the match continued in the same vein, with the team relentlessly searching for more goals and finding the net. In the 7th minute, Isabela Nunes crossed perfectly to Leane's head: 4-0. Next, Maria Fernanda took advantage of a good pass from Brendha and Anna Luiza scored the fifth. After that, Filipe Torres made some changes and the rout was consolidated.

The sixth goal came from Laís's feet and was also a stunning goal. The number 19 controlled the ball with ease, adjusted her body after leaving her marker behind, and struck a well-placed shot. In the final stretch of the match, Carol Martins shone. Essential throughout the ninety minutes, the defender capped off her impeccable performance—and the Girls from Gávea's triumph—with two goals, one a long-range shot and the other a header: 8-0 and a great start to the national competition.
