Flamengo's debut in the U-20 Women's Carioca Championship was impeccable and unforgettable. On Sunday morning (3), the Rubro-Negro thrashed União Central 18-0 and started the tournament on the right foot. The match marked the return to the field of Nina Garrit, who was out for nine months due to a knee injury. The striker scored two goals and led the victory in Gávea. Jamile (4), Alice (3), Ana Papel (2), Maria Fernanda (2), Campos, Cecília, Isa Kotait, Laís and Sofia completed the score.

The game

Overwhelming from the start, Mais Querido scored the first two goals through Alice. Without giving their opponents a second chance, the Meninas da Gávea extended their lead with two consecutive goals from Maria Fernanda: 4-0. In the 12th minute, the referee awarded a penalty, and Jamile converted. The number 9 also scored the sixth and seventh after receiving excellent passes from Isa Kotait and Cecília. In the 20th minute, just before the technical timeout, Alice burst into the box and made no mistake: 8-0. The ninth came from Laís, who capitalized on a cross into the box.

Intense and dominant, the team scored the tenth and eleventh goals through Ana Papel. In the 43rd minute, in a well-rehearsed corner kick, Dudinha lifted the ball and Cecília headed it perfectly: 12-0. In stoppage time, Alice won the race and forced the goalkeeper to make a great save, but Jamile scored on the rebound: 13-0 in a breathtaking first half.

In the second half, Filipe Torres brought on Nina Garrit. Received a standing ovation from her teammates and everyone present at Mengão headquarters, the center forward shone and scored in the 21st minute, thanks to a superb individual play by Jamile. It didn't take long for the 15th goal to come from a set piece: Ana Papel crossed and Isa Kotait headed in. In the 34th minute, Sofia sent a free kick into the corner from a distance: 16-0. In the final stretch, Nina Garrit found the net with a beautiful shot from outside the box, and Campos closed the scoring: 18-0.

Next appointment

Flamengo returns to play on Thursday (7), against Fortaleza, at home, for the second leg of the quarter-finals of the Brasileirão Feminino Sub-20.
