After two months of preparation due to the break for the Copa América, Flamengo will finally return to play in the Brazilian Women's Championship. This Sunday morning (10), the Mais Querido will face Palmeiras, at 10:30 am, at the Raulino de Oliveira Stadium, for the first leg of the quarterfinals, with support from Sesc/RJ. Globo, SporTV and TV Brasil will broadcast the match live.
During the entire period, the Meninas da Gávea played two training matches - against Botafogo and Vasco respectively - and trained hard in three different locations: CFZ, CT das Vargens and Gávea. This last week was extremely productive and the delegation left Rio for Pinheiral on the afternoon of last Friday (8). It is worth mentioning that the chosen location is very close to the stage of the decisive clash.
Earlier today, the team held its final training session at the João Havelange Training Center, and forward Cristiane was honored by the group. She received gifts for Aurora, her newborn daughter, and a letter of thanks from the entire group, read by Rosana Augusto. The coach recognized the athlete's importance and spoke about expectations for the match.
"The fact that Cris is here with us right now needs to be commended because it shows how strong she and her wife are. They're incredible women. Without a doubt, that motivates us immensely. And speaking a little about preparation, we were able to work on both the tactical and physical aspects. We made good use of the break, and I see the team ready. It's going to be a great game, and the details will make the difference. We'll do everything we can to win," he said.
Tickets for the match will be sold at the Raulino box office from 8am tomorrow, costing ten reais.
