On Monday afternoon (16), the Meninas da Gávea did the first training session of part 2 of the pre-season that is taking place in Pinheiral, in the South of the State of Rio. Under strong heat, the team warmed up with physical trainer Saulo de Almeida and, later, went to the field.

At the João Havelange Training Center, the outfield players worked extensively on passing and finishing with Coach Luis Andrade and assistant coach Thays Guimarães. The goalkeepers, accompanied by coach Felipe França, performed specific activities and excelled. It's worth remembering that tomorrow at 15:30 p.m., the Rubro-Negro will discover their opponent in the quarterfinals of the Super Cup, the competition that kicks off the 2023 calendar. Because FERJ is better placed in the CBF Federation rankings, the club will host the match.

"I'm very pleased with our first day here in Pinheiral. We still have the whole week ahead of us, but I could tell right away that the players are completely focused. We need everyone to be in good physical and mental shape to achieve our goals. We'll continue working and improving; after all, we have an important commitment at the beginning of February, and we have to be at 100% strength," commented the Portuguese coach.
