Mengão prevails in the second half and thrashes UDA-AL 5-1 in the U-20 Women's Brasileirão

On Wednesday afternoon (26), Flamengo achieved another great result in the Brazilian Women's Under-20 Championship. Playing away from home, at the Rei Pelé Stadium, the Rubro-Negro thrashed UDA-AL 5-1, with goals from Mariana Fernandes (3), Ingrid and Laysa. With the triumph, the team led by Celso Silva closed the round undefeated.

The game
Needing to win, the Meninas da Gávea started the match pressing and creating chances. Despite dominating, the team couldn't open the scoring until the technical timeout. On the return leg in the 21st minute, Diovanna crossed, and Mariana Fernandes made no mistake: 1-0. In stoppage time, UDA-AL equalized from a penalty kick.

In the second half, with a faster tempo, Mengão was overwhelming. In the 15th minute, Pimenta passed to Laysa, who hit a beautiful shot and scored a stunning goal: 2-1. In the 32nd minute, Diovanna launched a cross into the box, and Ingrid doubled the lead. A minute later, Mariana Fernandes received the ball from Louvain and fired a cross shot: 4-1. The fifth goal came from the feet of the number 7 and captain, who sprinted from midfield, burst into the box, and sealed the deserved rout with a hat trick: 5-1.
